An estate is like a jigsaw puzzle.
We help you put all the pieces into place!

Welcome to Exit Stage Right®

The fact that you have opened this website indicates that you are interested in getting your affairs in order or have suddenly found yourself in the role of Trustee or Executor for a loved one. This site was created to be an educational place to learn about both of these situations.

Exit Stage Right® was established in 1992, to help families get their affairs in order and to assist the estate administrator with their duties. No one else was doing this type of work, but it became my life assignment.

After 30 years of serving hundreds of clients with their preparation or assisting the estate administrator with hands-on assistance, I have now become an Emerita and I have stepped away from physical organizing. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area and need personal assistance, I suggest that you visit napo-sfba.com to find a Professional Organizer. For those in other areas of the United States, check out napo.net for Professional Organizers near you. NAPO is the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals.

This site contains a downloadable copy of my workbook “Exit Strategies: A Plan and A Place for Your Estate Information©” for FREE. It contains a Family Resource Guide with all the information that I would share with you if we met in person and the data pages were created to record all your personal, financial and legal information that your family will need at a time of crisis. This includes recovering from a disaster, incapacity or settling an estate. If you should want to create your Exit Strategies on the computer, you can simply use the categories as a guide and enter your information.

This is my gift to you!

If you have found this workbook to be of value to you and your family, I would request that you consider making a donation to one of the following non-profits or a charity of your choice. Thank you!

HOW TO USE THIS WEBSITE

At the top left corner of the page, please click on the three lines to find the directory for this website. When you click on the Family Resource Guide, you will find educational material on the topics needed to organize your personal information, which are separated into sections.

Please note that at the end of each section there is a link to the data pages that match that section, which are used to record your personal information. These data pages are also available in the Resources section. These can be downloaded and printed for your use. To download these sheets just click on the link. The document will open in a separate window in your browser, usually using the program you have installed to read PDF documents (i.e., Adobe Acrobat Reader). Scroll down to the bottom of the document, and hover your mouse toward the center. Options will pop up, including one that looks like a magnifying glass on top of two sheets of paper. Click on that and it will open using your installed PDF program. Then you can save or print the document.

As the "Puzzle Master", Jeanne K. Smith has spent the last 30+ years helping clients put all the pieces in one place, as a gift of love for their families.

A typical estate plan consists of the documents needed to address the legal aspects of estate administration. Estate organization focuses on the practical and personal information your estate administrator will need in order to carry out his/her duties. The goal is to have all the needed information in one place.

On this site, you will find resources to help you create this gift of love, and to assist the estate administrator upon your death.

“Exit Stage Right® is Jeanne Smith’s gift to those dealing with the two sides of death: the personal side and business side. With great sensitivity and practicality, Jeanne has created a system to help us prepare not only ourselves, but also our families.”

—Diane Judd, Professional Organizer
